My Top 5 Netflix Picks

Hello you lovely lot! So it seems the whole world has taken a turn no one expected it to take, a lot of people are self isolating and I’ll admit it’s a scary time, but at times like these it’s important to escape somewhere else just away from the happenings of the world for a while. I’ll be lying if I said it hasn’t kicked off my anxiety, but it’s bound to happen, and knowing we’ve got the blogging world to go to for a couple of hours eases my mind a bit.

So with everyone having a bit more time inside, I think the number 1 go to for me besides writing, is Netflix, I love binge watching and chucking on a cheesy rom-com or a comedy, so I wanted to share with you my favourites at the moment.

Shadowhunters The Mortal Instruments

So if you’ve seen the movie, The Mortal Instruments City Of Bones, then you’d know what this series is about. I love the supernatural, vampires, werewolves, warlocks, you name it I love it. For me it’s a step into a different dimension and you completely immerse yourself in the universe they have created. I would say that maybe some of the creatures in this series can be quite frightening for younger children. It’s based in New York, the protagonist is a girl named Clary Fray, she grows up her whole life not knowing about the secrets of the world that her mother hid from her, but after a tragic turn of events she slowly starts to learn about the world that she truly belongs in.

The Stranger

Now if you love a mystery then this series is the one for you, it’s one of those that you genuinely cannot predict what’s going to happen and the amount of plot twists the show throws at you is incredible. I love shows like this, you don’t even have to wait a couple of episodes to get stuck into it, they throw you in the deep end right away. I binged this in one sitting, it was so good I couldn’t turn it off, some of it can be quite graphic I will warn you. I would honestly recommend this to anyone who loves a binge-worthy series.

Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father

If you live in the UK I’m sure you’ve heard of this one. Jack Whitehall is a British comedian, and he made a series with his father where they travelled around different places in the world, and they are two completely different people which makes it so funny. His dad is someone who is definitely used to luxury but Jack wanted to take him on a trip that maybe me and you would be used too, now trying to see someone who didn’t even know what a hostel was, being told that he has to stay in one is quite funny. It’s a good light-hearted series to watch.

Stranger Things

Something tells me I don’t really need to explain this one too much, I wanted to try and include series that people wouldn’t have heard of, but this is one of my ultimate favourites and I couldn’t leave it out. I’m sure you know what this series is about and I’m sure you’d agree that it’s genius, I’m not saying everyone is a fan if you’re not into the supernatural and other world type of series that’s fine, I love this and my younger brothers love it too, so it’s good for slightly older children.

Frequency

Now this series was recommend to me by a family member and I’m glad they did. It’s about a woman that uses an old radio to talk to her deceased father, they both go on a mystery adventure to solve a mystery, however I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but I do recommend that you watch the trailer. It’s a good crime series for all you crime lovers out there.

Have you got any recommendations? Tell me your favourites I’d love to have some new shows to watch.
