Colder months are setting in, that means, darker mornings and evenings go darker quicker, the days are short and you just feel like you don’t have enough time in the day to do everything you need to get done, but not only that, you also may not feel as productive during this time of year, I know I struggle. So here are 5 of my tips that help me with boosting my productivity levels.
Breaks
Taking breaks are important, it gives you the balance you need between screen time and chill time, having that equal balance I find gives me the boost I need to get my work done, but with this means that you need strong self discipline, it’s harder to come off a break and get back into work, but if you have that discipline for yourself then the balance between work and relaxation is perfect.
Don’t cram it all in
Try not to cram everything that you need to get done all in one day, sometimes that just isn’t possible. I like to try and split my tasks up, so one day I’ll purely do admin for my blog and another I will work on my small business The Bethany Edit. This allows me a bit of diversity too so that I’m not constantly doing the same thing day in and day out, I like the idea of switching it up a bit each day and find that I am more productive in this way.
Lists
To do lists are your best friend when it comes to boosting your productivity levels, the satisifcation of ticking a task off is great for boosting productivity levels and almost motivates me more to get the next one done. Nothing feels better than having a completed to do list at the end of the day.
Clean work environment
Having a clean work space is crucial for your productivity levels. ensuring you have a tidy space can help you work with a clearer mind as there is no clutter. I like to use the little stationary organisers and sometimes have different notebooks for different things so I know what one to use that day depending on what I need to get done.
Lighting
This last point almost runs off the previous point but, having natural light in your workspace is so important, ensuring that you are not working in a dark or dimley lit room. I find the darker the lighting the more tired I feel and I don’t get much done, but having that natural bright light when I’m working I tend to get so much more done.
What do you do to boost your productivity?
TTFN x
Lists really do help me deal with life. It’s my compass for when I have spare time, and it helps keep me on track when I don’t know what to do with my time. People may have differing thoughts on lists, but for me, they’re magical in a weird kinda way 😛
Thanks for this, Bethany!
